Allison
Allison grew up in upstate New York and went to college for graphic design, photographty and business. After college she moved to Atlanta for 8 years and worked in the corporate world at graphic design pre press companies and later at an ad agency. She missed the northeast and moved to Boston July '04 with her dogs Tracker and Layla. Continued her career in an ad agency here before being laid off. After 8 years working in that industry she realized she wasn't a corporate career kind of girl! She then fell into a perfect job for her by comparison... working for the Dogfather! Karen, who had walked dogs for 6 years after losing her airline industry job after 9/11, was opening up a retail, grooming and doggie daycare in the North End. Since they always saw her with her two big dogs, they asked her to join them! It couldn't have been more perfect... she is such a huge dog lover.
Synthia
Synthia is the main gal behind the register. She has been working at The Dogfather since March 2010; she works mostly during the day but occasionally closes the store on weeknights too. She is as skinny and a string bean and a whole lotta woman! She passes her time filling the air with sarcasm and sass, although she is very kind at heart :) We couldn't run this operation without her help every day!??
Dani
Dani began working at The Dogfather in 2006. In her time at the store, she has basically done every possible job there is to do. Presently she is responsible for picking up dogs and dropping them off, as well as going for day walks. In her free time she can be found perfecting her grooming techniques on her own beautiful Yorkie Terrier, Maya, as well as client dogs. All in all, she is Karen's slave (but well compensated!!)
Rebecca
Rebecca started working at The Dogfather around the same time as Dani in 2005. She is also responsible for picking up and dropping off dogs, and in addition runs day trips in the Fells. Her golden retriever, Ace, accompanies her during most of the day and is a great doggy idol for all of the others to look up to. Any dog lover can tell within minutes that Becca has a special way with our canine companions - and, of course, any dogs know instantly. Rebecca left The Dogfather in the fall of 2010, but still helps out on Saturdays.
Dave
Dave has become increasingly involved with The Dogfather since the summer of 2009, when he first discovered this North End doggie paradise. Born and raised in the outskirts of Philadelphia, his household was rife with a diversity of creatures from doves to geese to horses, as well as 4 dogs. His first dream job growing up was to become a veterinarian. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, worked at Mass General Hospital for 2 years, and is currently pursuing his M.D. at Tufts University School of Medicine. His love for dogs has grown over the years, and is the underlying reason for his devotion to the store. He closes two nights a week, works on Saturday, and does early morning and night walks 7 days a week. He is very thankful to be a part of the Dogfather family and looks forward to his very own first pet (until then he will have to settle for living vicariously through clients' dogs and visiting his family's dogs in Philadelphia).
Maria and Ross
Maria and Ross have known Karen from the very beginning. True North-Enders, they have both been incredibly helpful with opening and closing the store and, most importantly, cleaning the premises from top to bottom. Their dog, Minnie, has enjoyed playing with the other dogs at playgroup for many years. All three are true members of the original Dogfather family! Oh, and Maria is also a great cook :)
John
With a degree from the New England K-9 Training Institute and many years of training service, John will work with you and your pet from basic obedience, to behavior modification, to fear aggression.
